Dor Yeshorim held its annual Bein Hazmanim genetic screening for bochurim throughout the tristate area. The events were a tremendous success, with an incredible turnout at each location.

Starting Sunday, May 1st, the day after Pesach, and continuing each day on through Wednesday, May 4th, Dor Yeshorim phlebotomists screened individuals in the Boro Park, Lakewood, Monsey and Williamsburg communities, respectively.

Dor Yeshorim is a one-of-a-kind organization that has been spearheading pioneering genetic research and protecting the health of our communities for the past thirty-two years. It spares no cost in conducting the most advanced and costly research so it can safeguard the health of Klal Yisroel’s future.

In its mission to eradicate debilitating genetic disease from all of Klal Yisroel forever, and after many years of research and realizing how prevalent genetic disease is among the Sephardic community, Dor Yeshorim has recently expanded its programs to include screening for diseases prevalent in the Sephardic communities, as well.

Dor Yeshorim does not stop at standard testing. Hundreds of families each year have children that have been diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. For them, standard testing is not sufficient, as the genetic mutation must first be painstakingly identified and carefully researched. Only then can reliable, case specific testing methods be developed. Dor Yeshorim spares no cost in applying its expertise, ensuring them bez”h healthy families of their own.

Through its genetic testing programs, Dor Yeshorim has been responsible for saving more than 4,600 families from having children born with fatal, recessive genetic diseases. As we usher in the new generation of Klal Yisroel, so much peace of mind has been secured from Dor Yeshorim’s efforts, as Klal Yisroel’s young men and women walk down to the chuppah knowing they have done what it takes to protect their families and their future.
